Pondicherry University, also known as PU, is a collegiate public central university located in Kalapet, Pondicherry, Union Territory of Puducherry, India. It was established by an Act of Parliament in 1985 by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Vice President of India is the Chancellor along with the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry acting as the Chief Rector and the President of India is the Visitor of the University. The university is a collegiate university with its jurisdiction spread over the Union Territory of Puducherry located in Tamil Nadu (Pondicherry and Karaikal), Kerala (Mahé) and Andhra Pradesh (Yanam), and Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The vast jurisdiction over three Union Territories namely gives the University a national character. The residents speak diverse languages such as English, Tamil, French, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya and Kannada.

It is notified for the information of all concerned that the admission to the following Integrated Post Graduate Programmes will be based on Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) - 2022 to be conducted by National Testing Agency: -

One of the main responsibilities of the Placement Cell is to motivate, train and prepare the students of the University and its affiliated Colleges for campus interviews. It plays a very important and key role in counselling and guiding the students of the University and its affiliated Colleges for their successful career placement, which is a crucial interface for the students between the stages of completion of academic programmes of studies and entry into suitable employment.

Some of the major activities of the Placement Cell are:

Organising On-and-Off campus interviews

Organising training programmes like Personality Development Programmes, Mock Aptitude tests, Group Discussion training and mock interviews

Co-ordinating Industrial Visits

Co-ordinating semester long or year-long Project Placement for the Students

Supporting Technical Seminars, Conferences, Workshops,etc., organized by various departments

Organising Student level workshops/meets with major Corporates

Organising Faculty Development Programmes (FDP), collaborating with companies,etc

Facilitating Industry Institute Interactions by inviting experts for lectures, as members of Project and Laboratory evaluation panels, members of Selection Committees, etc.
